Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent portable generator that will run on Bio?
-
i have run mine of bio with no problems. its a 5kva with a yanmar 100 chinese copy 11hp engine.

Do you have a model no.?
-
it is a chinese one there are lots of different no's they are all more or less the same. get one from somewhere that will supply the spares and talk to somebody before you buy one. i got mine from portable energy ltd in coleford talk to martin he will sort you out. there are a lot of cowboys in the generator game. don't buy one from the back of a transit in the pub carpark.

they may have stopped selling the generators but carry all the spares, plus the know how as well. i have dealt with them for years. always helpful and fast for spares.

It all depends on how you value your bio wheather a genny is good for using for your process. It can be more economical, and simpler to use mains electric.
I used a chinese one for 3 years until it went caput. I've never bothered to replace it as I don't think it was saving me money.
