This stuff makes excellent filter socks or just use sheets for course filtering.

If anyone's interested you need to be quick, as these things seem to go rather fast.

I have a 4 metre wide roll of similar, tried it but it seems a bit too fine, loads of different types i guess

Either it's too fine or you're getting some really manky oil!

I empty the BCBs and fat and give them a wash in glycerin and hot water once a year or so. I don't put really bad oil and dregs from the bottom of cubies and cans through them, they go into my heated fat melter via a course wire mesh, but they do work exceptionally well for reasonable oil.
Unfortunately I've got no more left otherwise I'd send you some to try.
