Title: VAGCOM-VCDS
Post by: 1958steveflying on October 01, 2015, 07:23:28 PM
hi all, it's been so long since I last played with Vcds and my 1.9 Tdi 110 I thought I would dig it out again. Now who was the expert that had done lots of mods to one of these engines ? Just looking for some pointers on adjustments that can be made using Vcds that might be beneficial.

You could try shutting down the emissions control system to get more
performance at the expense of massively greater toxic emissions.

....on second thoughts VAG already did that one so don't bother

you can use vcds to fine tune the pump timing, but for the range of adjustment you get electronically it wont affect the running of it.
Much better to use it to do a couple of boost and injection quantity logs to make sure your vnt is setup right (stop screw and actuator length) and to make sure the maf sensor is working correctly.
