Title: Quids in for diesel retailers
Post by: Tony on July 15, 2015, 04:20:47 PM
Following a thread on VOD on the subject...

Bit of a gap going on there at the end, cheeky sods not passing any savings on are they?

As observed on VOD, petrol and diesel appear to be converging in price:

I think we get very complacent given "our" fuel costs.

I had to go to the petrol station to buy some petrol for the lawn mower yesterday.  I couldn't believe it ... ten quid to half fill a Jerry can!

I recon it must cost me more to cut the lawn than run the car for a month.

What hurts is that I shouldn't be paying most of the tax as I don't take the lawn mower on the road!

Yeah, it's funny that. Petrol has risen to an equal price to diesel this last 10 days or so.
I think someone said in one place they were both at around 119ppl. The move seems to have happened as the Greek issues have gathered pace.
Someone somewhere stockpiling large quantitys of petrol? Must be a vast amount though, to       affect the market like that, considering the size of the market.

I've used 140 litres of petrol in my mower and brushcutter this year already. Can't complain though. The longer they run, the more money I'm making.

Julian, I have two diesel lawnmovers, both ransoms, one is a 2.0 4 cyl Kubota and the other a 3 cyl 1.8 kubota. Thank goodness they both love bio as I have 6 acres of grass to cut.

I think we're working on different scales!

I never noticed the price around here, normal people don't believe me when I tell them I've no idea how much fuel is but it's probably over a quid by now :)

I did notice the price of LPG has dropped a bit though :)

The price drop has reached the news:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-33594585

"Wholesale prices for diesel have been cheaper than petrol since 27 May, the RAC said."
