Title: Viewing recent topics
Post by: Julian on February 20, 2012, 12:59:13 AM
Had a little look, but as usual, most of this stuff is beyond me!

The "most recent posts" link on the forum shows a URL of ... http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=recent

This page ... http://www.simplemachines.org/community/ssi_examples.shtml has some sort of code for "recent posts" and "recent topics".

Is it possible to have a link to "recent topics", it would make life a lot easer for Muppets like me!

In my simplistic way I've tried  ...  http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=recentTopics  but it just delivers the forum home page.

There is a mod - "Today's Posts" that does just that.  I've installed it, and it modified all the themes to include an extra menu item at the top - except the one we're using.  Sigh.

I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can manually modify the theme to include it.

Thanks Tony, but we already have a recent posts link, just above "Users on line".

It was topics or threads I was after, or was that what you meant?

Yep, that's what it should do - list the recent topics (rather than posts) - the name is a touch misleading.

That looks to be spot on.

While a link as part of the theme would be nice, could you add it the same way as you added the link to the wiki?
