That's largely a myth.
-
you sure its not a mythter?
-
hmm true, could be a mthh or a munt.

I've not had to change the filter with three cars switched to bio, including the current one which has 250k (km) on the clock. Used to be a taxi!
That said, when Olivier came down to buy a merc I filled that with bio and he had the filter block just before making it back to Edinburgh. That was a proper neglected merc that one.

I had to change the filter on the vw polo after 2 months on bio after a serious loss of power.
The filter was clogged with what was obviously scale from inside of fuel lines

Interesting.
Surface area of the small diameter fuel lines (plastic) should be well exceeded by the surface area of the fuel filter media.
As implied, this also sounds like a case of 'fuel filter replete'. Merc. specify something like a 60K interval of some I've had.

There is a table of B100 compatible vehicles on this site at:
http://www.biopowered.co.uk/w/index.php?title=Members%20vehicles%20running%20biodiesel%20or%20vegetable%20oil&board=redirect
The table format seems a more useful resource that wading through this string on the forum, but I can't work out how to add to the table. Could anybody please advise ?
Thanks

Hi B100,
Welcome to the wiki and forum.
You need to be a wiki editor to be able to edit the wiki. It took a while to remember how to change your status, but you now have editing rights.
If you go to that page and click edit you'll see a text box, scroll to the bottom. You'll notice each entry is separated by |- copy from and including |- , paste it above the line that says <!--Don't paste below this line--> and alter the lines to suit your car. When you're done click save ... easy!
I know, clear as mud! Any problems just post up and someone will help.
Nice to see new entries, the more info we collect the more useful it'll be to others.

Thanks Julian.
