Nice little haul. I reckon those rams are air rams.

I'd put money on those being air rams, The burners look like electro oil units judging by the emblem on the cover plate and the yellow fuel tank looks like it came from a suitcase generator

Believe it or not, that's a small Mono.  If it's not megabucks ... for heaven's sake grab it.

There's not much to go wrong with them.  If you don't want it, it's just what Ged is looking for.  Might be a slower delivery than he's after (I think circa 17 ltrs/min), but it'll last a life time and pump all sorts of gunk.

The first Mono pic looks to have a lister pump hiding in the backround.
phenomenal pump for pumping water, if it's working. Worth a few quid.
Lots are cracked by frost mind.

I thought that was a lister too

cable on motor has been twisted and basially became one wire, do you think I should get it Julian? how much would you pay for that I can grab it tomorrow!

who wants it?

If your going to grab the lister, check the big end. It's a fair guess the cover is off because they were investigating a knocking noise.
Having said that, it doesn't really matter, if someone really wants it, it's pretty simple to make up a big end. It's not under any serious stress. Any good machine shop could sort it pretty simple.
There is not so many of them about as there were.

This guy is starting the bidding at £200. Think he might be hoping a bit, but you never know.

Ged ... see this thread ...http://www.biopowered.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2276.0/topicseen.html

Personally I'd offer them the scrap value (whatever that is) on the assumption that it's not working.  After that it's up to you and Ged as to how you approach things.

They are pretty basic, only major ware item is the stator available for Mono for about 50 quid, but they work reasonably well with a little ware.  The mechanical seal can be refurbished with an O ring and some careful lapping ... see the wiki.

If you do get it, don't fix the wiring and run it dry, you could damage the stator.  Fill it with veg, so it has some lubrication, and then try it.

Oh, forgot to say ... if the motor's dead it's pretty much a write off.  It's a special motor with a left-hand thread on the end of the shaft.  It may be possible to get the shaft of a suitable flange mounted motor machined and screw cut, but I doubt it wold be economical.  That said those Hoover motors were very well built.

If this were the case you may get something for the pump, selling it as spares.

I have a petrol powered mono MM which has the same pump bit as the mono in the photos.

Id certainly gamble a few multiples of scrap price for the parts in the end bit, if noone else wanted it.

The burner is an electo oil.

Dick - i cant recall what you said last time we spoke, but that burner would be good for you.  Its possibly bust, but theyre fixable with some effort.

RM's photo is an MS.  The MM and ML are bigger and have the suction and discharge on the center line of the pump.

J
I have got a Worcester  Danesmore with a suitable, I think, burner but it would be useful to have that to play with. I will be getting it going for heat in the spring as the grid tie has packed up and is not cost effective to fix (pma and possibly GTI fail) will be using it for heat though in the short term. We are probably going to pv for the electric we think

So RM if you are going there for others, don't make a special journey, then I would be interested in that at scrap price, about £5? Tempted by the Lister pump as well but got enough projects on the go.

apparanty they can get that scrap there in the smash um up box to get the copper and cast and bushes out to get full weigh in price for them...

well I tried folks... working or not isn't important to them...
