Definitely under zero here this morning. I wasn't brave enough to try and start the van.

im glad i was bored and fitted a twin tank to see what happened.

last few hundred yards on dino, kill engine and turn back to veg on drive way. (no purge on mine, all returns to main tank)

starts on button and straight onto wvo. uses about 6L per week. 8)

-8c now where I am in Southern Germany. I've got 7.5ltr of un-winterised bio sat outside, it's been out for a few days at at least -3c and still liquid and all clear as a whistle. Going to be -13c tomorrow morning, should be interesting.

A touch of the mixed metaphors there old chap.

Clear as a bell or Clean as a whistle.

I'm still running un-winterised B100 but then the coldest I've seen on the thermometer is +2c.

Dipped well below freezing last night. Vitara fired up on WVO and 10%dino, no problem.
In fact it ticked over better than if it was warmer.
There is an automatic advance on the pump, that increases the revs. Soon as the engine warmed up a bit, it shut off, then it ticked over like a dog.
I'm starting to think it has two stages, the second stage coming in at freezing.
Might have to investigate that a bit further.

What you want to do is fit a flame plug, there is nutter running around forums promoting them! ;D ;D

Errr, yeah, not quite got around to that yet.
This thing has glow plugs. I'll let them die, then think about it.

Well I've never seen a clear bell and a whistle is normally full of spit.

I fitted one to my first boat, feck it was brilliant.

Mind you most people would call it a mapp torch.

Hot air paint strippers also work very well for starting on a cold morning.

Getting below freezing here frequently overnight, lots of ice about.  Bio is unwinterised as such, just a dash of 2-EHN to keep the power up :)
