Post by: GedsJeep on November 16, 2014, 12:26:01 AM
how good is your moral compass?

if you were offered cheap oil, would you buy it?

if you were offered cheap oil, that you knew there was a good chance was stolen, would you buy it?

if you were offered cheap oil, that you knew there was a good chance was stolen from people like us, or our collections, would you buy it?

White vans full of boxed chainsaws etc. are always tempting, but that's as far as it goes with me.  Temptation.

Dont buy it.  Sure, someone else probably will, and it will make little difference, but it will make you feel good turning it down.

Probably better than the money you might make would.

No I also don't buy from new venues if they have a home brewer collecting. I do if it is a comercial outfit though.

I doubt anyone on here would knowingly buy stolen oil, I also doubt anyone on here would admit it in this thread if they would buy it !

To modify my above comment, I'd think twice about collecting from an establishment where a private individual was established, but would have no qualms about taking on a collection from a commercial collectors round.  They've done it to me in the past, so they're fair game in my eyes.

Same here.

Colbeck (or however it's spelled) and Richardson (a division of Agri according to the van I used to see running around) have both pulled decent collections from under me. Colbeck just started lifting the oil while passing by and Richardson stopped supplying anything to the cafe until they got their waste oil, blackmail by any other name.

Gits
