Hi
Hope you can help, can you run a 1999 Merc e300 td on bio fuel
Thanks
-
A 300td would run on lard if you could get it through the filter ;D
Sorry, yes, they'll run on biodiesel or veg.
Welcome to the wiki and wiki forum.

Hark the Womble.
Both veg oil and bio diesel are both bio fuels, by the way. Some vehicles will not run on veg oil.

Hi Peter, I see you are just down the road from me. Don't know much about the Mercs but if you want to try it on a bit of bio give me a shout :)
-
Thanks for replys,i have used bio before in a skoda and it ran ok well done 40,000 miles on it with no problems just was not to sure about a Merc

I've got a 1998 C250 TD which is a 5 cylinder version of your 6 cylinder engine.
Runs like a top on BD100.
You may need to change the fuel filter (& should carry one with you) after 2 or 3 or 4 tanks as the BD will scour out any crap in your tank.

Interesting post...
It's an emphatic 'yes' for IDI Mercs running 'biofuel', as Google would have shown you really easily.
The 'brand' is immaterial. It is all about the tech.
-
Yes you can find it on google without any problem, trouble is you get some say yes you can use it some say no,surely better to ask people that know what there talking about rather than do your engine in
-
If you do run it on veg or bio then I'd change the O rings on the fuel pipes as these will go at some point.
There's a guy on ebay that sells a kit of viton ones and these are cheaper and better than ones from an MB main stealer.
It's a bit fiddly but not a hard job, a quick google search will give you more info on changing them.
