I don't have a cast iron christmas tree to put in it though?

I guess you could put it over a turk and melt some festive glycerol in it?

They don't make them like that any more. Those look like tensioning bolts for a wire fence.

It would look alright, nice and tight on my nephews foot. Slow him down a bit, the pesky little rascal.

I have exactly the same item holding my christmas tree in position right now. I have used it for the last five years ans works great for real trees. The pot allow you to put water in to keep the tree a bit fresher over the chrtistmas period.
