Title: Manufacturing fault
Post by: Tony on November 17, 2013, 08:11:58 PM
Well that was annoying.  Fitted a mixer tap to the kitchen, which came with two flexible tails.

Hot worked, nothing from the cold.

Swapped the cartridges, blew through the tap, all seemed good - but that cold refused to run.

Scratched head for some time.

Found out what it was in the end, it was the flexible hose tail on the cold feed - the threaded end that engages with the tap had a hole down it for the water but they hadn't drilled it all the way through so no way for the water to pass!

Grumble grumble

at least you didn't have to get a plumber in to sort it out. bet you wouldn't have got his fee back from the manufacturers.

I had the same thing with what passes for a regulator on my mig welder.  When I first got it all my welds were really, really bad until I realised what the problem was and drilled out the gas port ... now they're only really bad!
