Title: Bit windy out
Post by: Tony on October 26, 2013, 09:49:40 PM
I see the papers are stirring up bit of a "worst storm in 25 years!" furore.

60-80mph gusts, pfft it ain't a hurricane until average windspeed exceeds 74mph.  I like one German insurance co's description "74-95 mph. A minimal hurricane. No real damage to building structures. Damage primarily to unanchored mobile homes, shrubbery, and trees."

Still, I suppose it might be a bit exciting for the tarps I've got over some drums of oil.

Finally a good reason for tying SWMBO to the bed.

Just been out taking down the marquee that my daughter has for her birthday party!

More of a paraglider than a marquee tonight.

Finally a good reason for tying SWMBO to the bed.

Ensure the rope is tight and secure...............then sod off down the pub an' have a good time.

I think leaving the bed outside for full appreciation of mother nature is just a nice touch ;)

So you're a mind reader as well as all the other stuff, is there any end to your talents.

Looks like the strong winds are going to miss me. Not so the heavy rain.
A 30MPH wind rippling the roof of the caravan is quite thrilling..........

Just been out to put some bio in my son's car and there's just a light breeze.

Anyone know what time the show starts?

There's already a few roads over here blocked with fallen trees. Ferries will be cancelled, schools will be closed, no newspapers will arrive. People will start panic buying bread & sugar........

So far I am very underwhelmed by it all
It is raining here but failling pefectly vertical. Hardly a breath of wind.

If anything, it is unusually still. The calm before the storm maybe?

That's your own fault, you're old enough to know better.
