i think   the powers that be dont want humungus amounts of topic thread links, makes for harder useage for members

We had someone sign up from Bangladesh only last week, and then tried to sell us junk : (

Given the user is accessing the site via a German Tor exit node and appears to have forgotten to fill in the spambot's "field for introduction of new member" and that Tor node has had spammers use it before (according to stopforumspam), I think I've seen enough.
