I picked up 45L of oil on tuesday i went to filter through a cloth today
only to find that it had set solid in the tubs.
is this normal ?
if it was warmed would it be OK to make bio?
-
Oil setting solid is normal as the tempearture drops and/or if it has become palm saturated through cooking chips. There again it could be palm oil
Will it make bio if warmed up?...of course it will, it's veg oil. ::)
-
i also think its a sign of the times, "winter is on its way" dont us veggers love winter and fats...

Thats good news
just need better weather now hmmmm might need to wait for that.
Another question
I had been filtering through a cloth when it was warm and ending up with wet oil
and what i would describe as baby puke,
should I keep it and will it make bio

I would say....forget the questions. Get back to your shed and make a sample. The answer...so long as you made the sample correctly will give you the answer you're looking for. Or it'll highlight the issues with the way you make fuel.

Just remember that bio made from solids will still go solid as temps drop,
it will stay liquid at a lower temp than when it was oil,
but it's easy to get caught out if temps drop quickly.
