Sounds like a good day for a brew up to me (I get through 16kWh per batch)!
With the big processor, that'll be more like 50kWh, be good to get that for free.

Can you imagine the strain on the grid on a Friday night just after midnight ::)

Time to install a massive heat store!

Time to install a massive heat store!
Just had that discussion at work - you'd need an awful lot of water to last a week though, and quite a lot of immersions to heat it!

To some of its customers.........
Dodery old dears, that live in the most energy efficient houses, and heat on gas. Must have a smart meter, and will be allowed a limited amount of electric for free, and can kiss by by to their months pension should they dare to creep over it. Must be over 80, and have both parents alive.
They'll pull this scam for a few years, then there will be a court case about misrepresentation, and unfair pricing. They'll get a slap on the wrist.
-
It was on R2, they have 10M customers in UK of whom 600k have smart meters. Then you have to choose the tariff that has this offer, guess what they are going to do to you for the rest of the week? Yes charge you more so that in balance you would still have paid more overall.
Any way they haven't decided to do it yet.
-
They'll set the free amount slightly under normal usage, then charge a fortune if you go over, like what mobile phone cos do with free minutes. There will be a big song and dance about if the writing was big enough on the contract, and if the sales reps mislead customers.
In the meantime, every major new website is carrying the story, and British gas are getting masses of good publicity, and looking all customer friendly.

I do love the cynical side of this forum. ;D

Never short of a gloomy prediction. ;D
