Anyone wish to share methanol,
Last time I ordered 400litres
I will get prices from Dave at basic chemicals usually works out at around 50p per litre
-
How much is 400 litres, never bought that much at one go.
-
Somewhere in the region of £250ish delivered I suspect
-
possibly this may make some sense (it was just for my notes, so may not to other people?)

ordered 4 x 205 drums from basic cheaper than julians prices, shared one drum.
so have another spare
-
Can you let me know what basic charged per drum / delivery?
I did not call them.
-
Julian it is best to talk to Dave in person about deliveries, as he can sometimes (if you're prepared to wait) piggy back delivery on the back of a major order to a company local to you, and thus give excellent prices including delivery. But quoting them on the forum wouldn't necessarily be representative of his usual prices, if you see what I mean.
Dave is a very helpful chap - he's definitely "one of us" and gives a monkeys about us little guys, can't recommend him enough!

I agree Tony its a more personal service than spread sheets in exel.
I remember one of our members a while back wouldn't telephone Dave cos he thought emails were the proper way to do business.
I like Dave at Basic Chemicals he does business in the old fashioned way.
-
Can you tell me your per-drum price please?
I just called basic, but Dave was not in, and noone else could tell me the price.

Ohh well thats it then.
I speak to Inga usually, she will get all the info you need.

Probably a bit irrelevent as Bonnymanns have not had any for a while, but curious as to what was crazy about their pricing?
Bought an IBC from them in february to try and get costs down and it was £419 all told. 41.9ppl
-
The price was not great to start with, and then they wanted an IBC 'deposit' - which is fair enough.
But, my understanding of 'deposit' is that you get the cash back at the end. Alas, their understanding is different, as they apply a fixed 'depreciation' charge of aprox 1/3rd of the deposit (IIRC). So, effectivly, there's the price, but then you have to add on 1/3rd of the deposit cost also.
In the other companies i called up, some had single trip ibcs, some had reusable ones, and deposits etc. but none of the others had this sort of additional charge.

Can't agree more about Dave - very personable, great prices - what more can you want.
