Whilst trying to find some space today, i discovered that the burried dumpy bag that i thought was full of wood, is actually full of sawdust.
Given that it was burried under a load of carpet tubes, that was this evenings activity worked out : /

funny you should say that. i have been sorting out my winter oil supply. filled one 200 ltr drum with WMO and started on the next one. been promised another 50 litres next week from my tractor mechanic friend. so hopefully will have 400 litres settling soon.

How well is your WMO burner running now?
I was wondering if a large hot water tank that you can 'charge' once in a while might be a more stable heat source?

hi julian, it is working fine,apart from the needle valve getting blocked on unfiltered WMO. have been using kero. it is very controllable. can go from a nice background heat to a roaring red hot monster in a couple of minutes. once i sort out the best way to filter the oil i should be able to run totally on WMO. will be doing some experiments over the summer with different filter arrangements. i an thinking of large scale hot water storage using the m67 and a insulated IBC. heat exchanger and radiator with a fan. of course that is more things to go wrong so wont be abandoning the drip feed heater. could do with some air con at the moment. think i will go and sit in the car,be a bit cooler there although i will have to use some devils pee. don't tell anyone.

theyre normally expensive, and also require some electricity, but what about one of those meetering pumps that has a flexible tube laid around a sort of 'cog'
same sort of principle as a mono pump (progressive cavity) but entirely different implementation

Think its called a peristaltic pump

i have thought of using a peristaltic pump. i have one from a glass washer i repaired for someone. given the way the stove reacts to tiny changes in flow thought the needle valve i would have to be able to adjust the speed of the pump. all the ones i have seen are fixed speed AC ones. i could use an inverter drive to control the speed,but that is even more things to go wrong. i think filtering the oil is going to be the best way. i can also use the centrifuge with the bio as well.
