hi all
had a mate get in touch that he put the wrong cubie in his car then realized but too late been sucked through to filter by then, so dumped fuel and changed sausage and all good again...
what filter caught...

I know you like those in line sausage filters... but without a normal filter after it.... aren't you worried about stuff/crap getting through ?

at first many moons ago, but now after alot of cars still useing them to this day, and i myself with 2 vehicles never had a problem, i maybe on 30k at least on me 406 still going as it was just fitted, vans only done 3 or 4 thousand so new ish on that one, at least another 4 vehicles running too i know of, 1 is a bora, T4, Toyota, Transit, 306...
all good thus far touch wood....

Err--so just to set the record straight.....
You have removed out of the system--the Original Vehicle nominal 5uM filter, and replaced it with this gauze filter rated prob around 250uM....?
Personally--I just couldn't do that, sounds like a major problem in the making to me--Even though you have a few years of use in this manner!

Neither could I but then again my veg filter system is still just a pillowcase in a barrell :P

Well--RM, You are a braver man than I!--I cannot recall ever running an engine--without a proper filter!
--Then again, you do use a pretty good system of cleaning your veggy, with good filtration down to 5uM? in your veg-purification kit.
One thing in your favour--any crud left in your veggy would probably be soft carbon-like particles rather than hard silica type stuff as found in std. diesel fuels....
My only concern would be someone much less experienced seeing this mod and NOT cleaning the oil up properly before its used in the vehicle......
