List the page you're on which you are working as a new post.
Once the page is complete, please delete the post.

I am working on the page 'Vegetable oil as fuel' which is intended as a basic guide to some of the aspects and practicalities of running engines on vegetable oil as opposed to biodiesel.
I am also currently making very slow progress re-formatting the BM database with a view to eventually publishing an easy-to-use reference chart.
-
I have "Testing Methanol" and "Cone bottoms for tanks" as WIP, slow WIP.
And Tony has to finish the hot water cylinder page!
-
Good point. I'm working on that one then!
-
I'm on "Gravity filtering of WVO."
-
Great news, let me know if you need any graphics.

I need to get a picture of my filtering system up, which is hosted on Photobucket. I've tryed doing it, like I was posting on a forum, but that doesn't seem to be working. What do I need to do? No rush on it, I've had enough for tonight.
Cheers.

For a wiki page you'll need to upload them here ... http://www.biopowered.co.uk/wiki/Special:Upload
-
Ok, Will do. Thanks.
-
I'm working on Glycerol Logs and MSDS for Sodium Methylate - WIP in fits and starts
-
Iv'e signed off on the "Gravity filtering of WVO" page.
Its appearing under "categories", when you go to Vegetable oil pages, but not appearing on the main menu.
Also, the link to the picture remains as a link, and the picture does not show.
Can someone help with this please?
Thankyou.
-
All done on both counts.
A nice page - well done.
-
Thank for doing that Jules. It's been there for a while, seemed appropriate to finish the job a day or two after i took it all apart.............
3.45 am!? Late night or early morning :)

Late night - finished work at 03:15Hrs so was having a quick look online while I had a cup of tea before going to bed.

I've just looked for a pump washing page to link to, but I don't see one,
this will make my acetone wash page hard for some to follow.
So I guess I better do a pump washing page.
Or would it be better to add this to the water washing page ?
Wasn't it Vince that pioneered this method ?
-
Is that pump washing with acid neutralisation to prevent emulsions , not sure who pioneered that process
-
I was referring to non acid titration pump washing, which, I believe was Vince's creation.
However I've just found the "water washing titrated method" page that Julian has been working on,
as it's not finished yet it doesn't show up on the main wiki page.
So I'll leave Julian to finish it and not step on his toes.

Yes it was Vince
Which water washing page?

This one

or were you referring to this

Vince started the pump washing yes, but who started acid washing, was it AlexR ?

The first one i started, is there another one then?
-
Sorry, I thought it looked like Julians shed.
But as it was you, hurry up and finish it you lazy sod.
-
I get confused easily, i started that page but most of the write up is Jules with a bit from me, i thought you meant soap rich bio poor had also started a page?
-
AH i see now, there are a couple of Soap rich pictures on it, before his shed disappeared in soap suds i guess

Blimey Mark, you have a good memory, there are photos in my shed on both pages, but only tiny snippets in the background! You must have a photographic memory ... next time I loose something can a ring you and ask where it is?
-

Mark I totally agree but you'll have to forgive him. If you liken his wiki skills to the world of cycling, he's still riding round with stabilisers.
The reason you couldn't find it was that our budding Lance Armstrong put it in the wrong category! It should be in the Finishing section with the other water washing stuff. Added to which, in the title, titration shouldn't have a capital. Heaven knows what other mistakes you'll find if you read the page.

Well Julian, as a fellow bio brewer I'm actually interested in what goes on in your shed so have taken notice.
I've shown a few forum visitors around my shed, you can tell the ones that are going to take it further and the ones that aren't.

Well I did notice it repeated it's self quite a bit, and I also noticed that this bit
"The dreaded emulsion or 'Chicken Soup' is created when water and biodiesel mix in the presence of soap - this is, after all, why soap is used to wash oils and greases away with water. Clearly if we intend to mix water with hundreds of litres of biodiesel and mix vigorously with a pump then the soaps need to be removed, or turned into something else first. "
Should read something in the region of
To stop emulsions forming we neutralise the excess catalyst to stop it reacting with the water and producing unnecessary soap.
But hay, it's not my page, so what do I care.
-
Oh no, you should care.
It's OUR wiki, and I feel OUR responsibility to publish what WE collectively think is best practise.
Constructive criticism is probably the best way to achieve that ... even if the author has to have an adult running along behind holding the saddle.

I thought we also got emulsions if the reaction was incomplete and still had oil present.

I do care, I wouldn't of bothered picking up on it otherwise.
I was just using sycology to shame Keith into putting it right and finishing it.
But I suppose sycology and shame are washed on small children.
-
I'm working on centrifuges - haven't got a clue what I'm doing though. Pausing for a moment, whilst i get to grips with water separators. Good to have everything relevant included.

Ha Ha, keep digging Hinge and Bracket, you obviously missed the bit where I said most of the write up was Jules!
I suggest you both wash your mouths out with your bio/soap before Jules spots this
Feel free to categorise it and correct anything as you are both obviously fully Lycra clad cyclists
