I'd be interested to know his KOH price, I've yet to experiment with that stuff. Almost certainly could do with IPA for cleaning if the price is right.
-
I'd be interested in some good quality IPA ... last lot off ebay was very acidic.
And can he supply conc sulfuric acid?
Interested in both at the right price.
-
I think James / Huntsman will be after some ASM
Oh what about BBQ lighter fluid? or do Wombles burn OK?
-
Oh what about BBQ lighter fluid? or do Wombles burn OK?
Won't methanol do? A much cleaner burn I think. ;D

How concentrated do you want it and it what sort of quantity? His IPA has always been of good quality.
I was hoping for a price list today by the end of buisness. I'll give him a nudge tomorrow.

I'm currently using stuff that's 98%, so the same if he has it please.

How much notice does he need ?
I'd like some more ASM but need to see how funds are closer to the time.
-

Don't want to taint the neat nige.....BBQ wonble is quite a delicacy!

We could arrange a paving slab and a sledge hammer for tenderising.
Think there's going to be a fight over who gets the sweetbread ... Slience of the Wombles ... tup, tup, tup, tup.

I'll be talking to my man again tomorrow to inform him of the interest (price dependent) and the sales generated. I fully expect him to come down...but it's all about the sales.
I just need his price list now. Anybody interested in paper products...blue roll and the like?

If hes got any sense it will already be pickled

Shall we bring our own containers or return the previous ones?, the orange drums are very good and its a shame to waste them

I've been well pickled at the other BBB's, so why should this one be any different.
-

If you still have the orange 25's then returning them would be most useful. They're quite rare now at our place. I can only get the 20lt version now.
-
I'd be interested in some ASM and methanol, but may well need it before the BBB, so will hang fire for the mo.
-

Methanol works really well as BBQ lighter fluid as those who went to Photoman290's Cornish BBB can testify - we didn't have any lighter fluid so used some of Bobs methanol for the same purpose.
Lovely pretty blue flames until the charcoal starts going then it's just yellow like normal fluid.
Nige, I would be interested in some of those big blue rolls that you tear the middle tube out of then put in a dispenser and pull the 'tail' out of the bottom - I'm sure you know what I mean.
I have one of those dispensers in the workshop so could do with some rolls .
Depending on price I would be up for half a dozen please

Would any of you who have caravans with toilets be interested in Chemical closet fluid?
My man can also supply bleaches, disinfectants, floor cleaners etc. pretty much anything chemical related.
-
I'd definitely take 5l IPA and 5l Acetone, will ponder whether to have 25kg NaOH or KOH too. Potentially have mates that will want some chems too (one of my friends sets stones in jewellery - held in place with superglue for setting, which is dissolved off afterwards with acetone!)
-
Thanks Nige,
The acid quantity is a little large, it'll take years to get through that much ... can he do 5 ltrs or 2.5 ltrs?
-

I don't think so. The smallest he does is a 25. The price is attactive as he decants from a deposited carbouy into a UN 25. Therefore no deposit is required. I will ask though.

Your order for the IPA and the Acetone is noted Tony. I'll standby on the hydroxides. Let me know as asap.
-
Julian...where do you stand on the centre feed rolls. Is that a good price?

There's likely to be health and safety implications if I were to try and stand on paper rolls ... honestly, some people!
-
However ......... If they are the 200mm wide ones the price seems quite reasonable.
Can we take it that the prices are fixed for orders placed within the next 30 days, but with delivery to the BBB?

I've told you before, don't call me that in public ... Julian will do nicely.

Anyone?

Nige ...
Thanks for the text. I'll go for ...
1) 150 metres centrefeed towels, 6 per case in blue to match my very tasteful lino @ £12.75
2) 2.5 ltrs sulfuric acid 96% @£10.00
3) 5 ltrs IPA @ £12.00 assume this is 99%+
I'll only be there on the Saturday will that coinside with your suppliers visit?
-
OK Julian...I'll add your order to the rest. Thanks
I can confirm that he'll be there on Saturday.
...and yeah..the IPA is top grade stuff.
-
Julian, would you like some 85% Phosphoric acid to use in your experiments. I have quite a lot of it here and not using it at any great rate now so if you want a litre or two I can bring some up for you
Nige, I listed my order on the VOD thread so hopefully you have it

Any chance you could bring a liter up for me Jules,
I'm almost out of H2SO4 and although I don't routinely use it now I'd like some in stock just in case I have problems.

Wasn't that the stuff that caused you problems when you did a titrated acid wash?

Good point, someones allready fly tipped a big barrel of soap at yours, so Jules thought you were a good target for some worthless acid.
-
Julian...is the H2S04 you want for anything specific like acid washing? If it is would battery acid not suffice? If so I have 8-9lts that I'm bringing to the BBB anyway.

Primarily, yes. How much is your battery acid and what's the strength?
-
I have 7.44lts of 1.32sg battery acid. There is no charge for this. It's stuff that gets thrown out at work periodically and ideal for those who wish to experiment. It's for general distribution but you can have first dibs on as much as you want. It comes in individual vials:
3 x 0.93lts
3 x 0.69lts
3 x 0.6lts

Brill, thanks Nige, may I have a couple of the 0.93 ltr vials please.
-
Oh, forgot to say I'll still go ahead with the 96% stuff from your man.
Is it OK if I pay him/them cash at the BBB?
-

Right...ok! The 0.93's are yours. I'll put a tag on them. The rest are up for grabs for anyone who wants or is planning on experimenting with acid washing.
Payment at the BBB is fine.

I'm still working on the pink stuff but it looks like a standard disinfectant from info found on various sites.
2 x 5lt of blue stuff is ordered for Paul and Chug. Again, looking on other sites from people selling this stuff...£6.50 for 5lts looks extremely competitive.

Here's the latest:
my supplier can offer the "pink" flush liquid as well as the "blue" sump fluid.
The price inclusive of VAT and delivered to the BBB is £3.50 for 5lts
Let me know
-
I've just had a message from my supplier informing me that a 25kg bag of KOH has now been reduced to £40. Now that doesn't happen very often. I'll amend the price list.

I think at the most, before the drums get decanted into 25's, there are only a couple of 25's left of ASM. Those who want some delivered free to the BBB need to get their arses in gear now to avoid any disappointment.
Those that are interested I also have 2 x 20lt here at my place from the same batch of 5 drums.
10 x 25 have been accounted for so far.
My supplier is looking at getting to the field around 11am on the Saturday so for most of you it'll be there before you arrive.
-
Get me down for a 25 of ASM Nige.
-
not sure when i will be down, when you going GM?
-
Get me down for a 25 of ASM Nige.
No problem GM.
Any other enquires, unless for the 2 x 20lt, will have to go on a reserve list now until the balance is all decanted out.
-
not sure when i will be down, when you going GM?
Not really sure, definitely on the saturday. Might stop a night or two, depending on how much work I've got on.
-
With regards to the post two above this one I now have the volume of ASM currently available.
My supplier decanted today and there are 4 x 25lts and the 2 x 20lts from my place available still.
-
Nige, can I order a 25L of Methanol aswell please?
I though I might be able to get my hands n some before the BBB, but to be honest, it's hardly worth it now.

There are 4 x 25 and 2 x 20 currently available.
Not sure about long term shelf life but kept it somewhere away from the cold during the winter months. There is information on the wiki about ASM

Only thing would be payment as I wont be there myself. I can post a cheque or transfer the money to someone today.

I've added that to the order Soupstone...you have a message with payment options. Let me know as soon as.
-
This a reminder to folks who are going to the BBB that if you require chemicals, then your order must be with me by Thursday 9pm in order for your goods to be processed. The price list for common chemicals are listed in the opening post.

What for? It's just a straight length, doubt you'll have time to fashion it into a cross.

Sure thing. I can't guarantee the element works but it is free :)

It's a breathing tube for when I'm in Chunders cooking pot.

Thanks Tony.
I've contacted him and I'll let you know if he's interested. He's Mike, a member on here, but doesn't post too regularly.
I've just stayed the weekend at his cottage with my better half. Mike and his Wife are a smashing couple and great company. Mike is a controls engineer and I'm hoping he'll supply some photos of his processor build and a comprehensive wiring diagram for the wiki ... if you're reading Mike!

you might end up with 100lts of Wombles soapy fuel instead of your bio Jules. Are you sure you can trust him?

You know all these enterprising ideas never crossed my mind until you guys mention them.
So I'll be offering a prize of 20 ltrs of Cornish bio to the most plausible excuse as to why Jules will have to go to the BP garage in the village when he arrives in August.
-
thats below the belt mate...
;D

You needed it to water down the quality feedstock that the womble dumped at yours.
Blaim the Womble as he won't be here for Jules interigate about it.
-
You'll lave a fine legacy behind you once you've gone, young Womble ... cut it with other liquids ... great idea.
Another 20 ltrs of un-cut Cornish bio to the best idea for a cutting agent.

For all those who need to make payments for the chemicals they've ordered can I ask you have the right money available. I wont have any change and I doubt Brett will either. Cheques made payable to Chempac Solutions are fine for those who still have such things. Credit card payments to Chempac is also offered for those wanting to take up that option. Send me a message and I'll give you the details.
....oh yeah. Don't forget the Thursday 9pm deadline
-
Happy to bring the right money, but I forgotten what I've ordered.
From memory ..
12.5 ltrs sulfuric acid shared with Jules
5 or maybe 10 ltrs IPA
A quantity of blue paper rolls
And there may have been a cuddly toy in there somewhere.
I'm sure you have an incredibly accurate list, I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Would you mind just reminding me again.
-
I do have a comprehensive list....now how did you know.
Pm coming your way.
-
Exact change, will do!
-
I asked much the same question Julian by PM on VOD. I am happy to pay for the acid as my order is somewhat larger (like around £120). You can then just give me the money for however much you want to take.
I'm pretty sure I do have one of those cheque book things around somewhere too although that strikes me as a dangerous thing to take to the BBB.
-
You have incoming Jules.
Yeah....that cheque book could be dangerous...what with RM touting for a game of cards with money

Man with list, he say 25 ltrs of Womble dissolving juice, so happy to take that, and it comes in at £32.50. So would you rather I paid you, I don't mind either way. Just nice to know in advance so I can bring the right money ... ooo, haven't we been here before?
-
It's on your order mate and I would hate to upset Nigel's fantastic accounting. Therefore I will pay you on the day.
I wonder how much much we will need to dissolve the womble and whether the residue is still any use for acid washing
-
So if I've got this right ... collectively we're buying 25 ltrs at £32.50 and splitting that to 2 x 12.5 ltrs at £16.25 each.
Man with list is confusing simple minds.
-

Under no circumstances will I accept cheques.
-
Yes - you give me 12.5 litres of womble dissolver into big plastic can I bring with me, I give you £16.25 of shiny metal round things and coloured paper things with numbers on
Now you understanding?
-
It would have all been so simple if I'd have remembered how much we'd agreed to buy and for how much!
But the nurse has helped me with the sums and some of the bigger words, so I think I've got it now.
-
nigel could you tell me how much my 2 items of toilet liquids are please...
