that 12c port is only 50milly amps... so not enough to run it... so must be 12v out not 12v in
guess there could be something you could power from it... no idea what tho :-)
-
yeah odd trying to work out what that does?

seems a bit strange that it only seems to have RF inputs and no satellite f connector. cant be a satellite receiver without a connector to the lnb. must plug into another box with the satellite connection bit like a virgin or sky box.

only half a picture above

this is what online manual says
0V/12V 50mA:This is used to Connect 12V to an external 0V/12V switch.

that makes sense now. you can get euro sport in German on the astra 11E satellite in german free. the linux bit just means it is using a linux based system. most hard disc recorders use linux as the operating system. if you very clever you can save all your films in linux and play them on your windows laptop. i did look at doing that but decided i wasn't clever enough, and life is too short. will leave that sort of thing to the 18 year olds. plus most films are available online anyway.

probably an output to turn other things on/off
I'm guessing they also make some other, optional kit which will turn on/off with that box... like a surround sound system or something >

It'll only work on the ones you can see - and then you have to make sure your dish is pointing in the right direction. You can't have more than one at once without either moving your dish or having a fancy setup with two LNBs.
Astra 1N/2A/2B/2C/2D at 28.2E carries the freesat programming.
