Simple problem - i want to connect some 3/4" hose to the bottom of my IBC.
There seems to be no cheap & good way to do this?
I could -
Buy a cap off ebay (about £4!? - 370291682619 ), drill it, and put together some sort of tank connector / hose tail arrangement.
Buy an ibc to bsp adapter off ebay (about £13 - 290819684767 ) and screw in a tail.
Both of these would be awkward when i wanted to remove the hose, and put the standard cap back on, as id have to screw the cap, with the hose attached.
Or, if i just wanted to throw money at the issue, i could spend about £28 on an ibc to cam adapter - 271073747830
Any other suggestions more in keeping with the general spirit of things here? : )
Thankyou

I just sent a mail to Oily bits, regarding their parts, but got an automated "We're on holiday" reply, so i wonder if anyone else can answer the question for me?
Here is what i asked -
Hi there,
Ive got a question regarding your Cam and Groove Couplings :
On this page - http://www.oilybits.com/hose-couplings-reels/hose-connectors/cam-and-groove-couplings/prod_290.html
...you have couplings listed in 1" and 3/4"
Im wondering if i can mix and match the tails / threads, and the cam
coupling will still mate? Or does the cam coupling change dia in
relation to the tail size also?
For example, if i were to purchase this -
http://www.oilybits.com/fittings-threaded-/ibc-fittings/ibc-cam-connector-to-hose-tail/prod_1027.html
...which comes with a 1" thread / cam arrangement / to 1" tail , could
i then mate a hose with a 3/4" tail to this (Aluminium, Type C, 3/4
Inch) or would i only be able to use 1" parts?

doesnt a carbouy black cap fit an ibc? think i may have one in me shed with a pipe on it, but not looking now, could look tomorrow
-
ive heard that too, but i tried some of mine, and no go...
from reading about IBC fittings though, apparently some carboy caps are the same size, but certainly not mine (and, indeed, all ive had have been the same thread)

I got a reply from Oilybits (despite them being on holiday!) -
The couplings are sized, for two to fit together you would need them to be both the same size.
If you want to join two unequal sized tubes, or to connect a 3/4" tube to a 1"BSP fitting then this is possible by using reducing bushes/sockets, or unequal hose tails;

Maybe it's your carbouy that is the unusual size? There are several different threads/lids for carbouys too.
The lids from this type of carbouy fit the most common IBC outlets.
