Picked this up on Thursday from a new place I'm collecting from (this is regular, every few weeks)

Decanted into barrels on Thursday evening, left empty drums on drive.
Came back today and they'd mysteriously evaporated...
I think the scrap metal guys patrol our area, I also lost a 205l steel drum that I had a buyer for for £5, I'd left it out on the drive for them, which is annoying.
-
I have a steel meths drum (closed top) if he wants it, FOC, but needs collecting soon.
I've used the disappearing drums trick a few times, it works for cookers, fridges as well.
-
So far I've sold off my old Meths drums (closed top) to people that want to make garden burners. Could sell them all day long at a fiver a pop.
Trouble is these mere mortals wouldn't want to travel for yours Mark, as the petrol cost would be too much... You should try it locally on gumtree if you want to shift it, get a fiver easy. Give it a good rinse inside though!

Id be pretty irritated if someone half inched anything from my drive (not that i really have a drive, but still...)
Its been (touch wood) refreshing to move down here -
Back in essex, they would rob the man hole covers, the phone lines, the whole lot. I mean they even had the sign at the end of our road!
Here, farmers leave all sorts of stuff about, and noone touches it : )
(i do wonder if it may be something to do with farmers having guns?)

I emptied 7 tins out the other Sunday, just when I'd finished draining them the scrap man came round the corner, perfect timing.

24/7 egg supply 5 mins walk down the road here.
they do, however, have a camera pointed on the cash box
-
I've got a man that comes and collects all my tins and glycerol so I don't have to worry about where to lose'm.
Well Done Slabster.
-
A great many of my old tins are now going to the local scouts where they make burners/ovens and stuff out of them!
-
Mine still get crushed by the biodiesel crusher and put in for recycling.

Same over here.....loads of them. I regularly get my potatoes from a little old lady that has a small, south facing very steep field (cotil). It's too steep to get any machinery on, so all the work is done by hand. Seaweed (vraic) is used as fertiliser, and the spuds are sold in 2lb bags with an honesty box for payment. Best tasting spuds ever.......
